Charged With Voter Fraud to Apply for Pardon if Convicted: ‘I Believe in a 2nd Chance’

Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman urged a man charged with voter fraud to apply for a pardon if convicted.
“As Chair of PA’s Board of Pardons and in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I hope if my dude in Forty Fort is convicted of voter fraud, he apply for a pardon,” Fetterman said in a November 25 tweet. “I believe in a 2nd chance.”
He continued to thank the man “for showing PA how hard voter fraud is.”
Fetterman’s tweet linked to an October 21 report from the Citizens’ Voice which stated that a man in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, allegedly forged the name and signature of his deceased mother on an absentee ballot application.
According to the Voice, the man, 67-year-old Robert R. Lynn, submitted an absentee ballot request for his mother Marie P. Hannigan, who died on August 21, 2015.
On the application, Lynn allegedly wrote the reason for the request was “visiting great-grandkids October 25 to November 10.”
The Luzerne County Bureau of Elections reportedly noticed that Lynn’s signature didn’t match the one the bureau had on file for Hannigan. It then notified the county’s district attorney’s office.

On October 8, county detectives visited Hannigan’s address where they found Lynn. When detectives pressed Lynn for Hannigan’s whereabouts, he said that his mother was deceased and he that forged her name and signature on the application.
He then stated that he knew what he did was wrong, but did it anyway, according to the Voice.
Lynn was charged with felony counts of forgery and interference with an election.
He was a registered Republican, according to state voter records, and had no previous criminal history in Pennsylvania, according to the state’s court records.
“I don’t want to see this man punished like the women in Texas,” Fetterman told Newsweek in a statement on November 25, referring to Crystal Mason’s 2016 case. “I don’t want that for anybody.”
Mason, a resident of Texas’s Tarrant County, was sentenced to five years in prison for casting a provisional ballot in the 2016 presidential election while on supervised release from prison for a 2011 fraud conviction.
Prosecutors argued that Mason knowingly violated the law prohibiting felons from voting before finishing their sentence. However, Mason claimed she had no idea officials considered her ineligible to vote.
Fetterman’s thread of tweets also noted that he’s “still a million bucks short” of being a “millionaire on paper,” calling out Republican Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, who made headlines by offering $1 million in exchange for evidence of fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
Fetterman took to Twitter earlier this month to claim a $2 million reward from Patrick for finding two cases of alleged voter fraud in Pennsylvania in a tongue-in-cheek criticism of President Donald Trump‘s campaign’s claims of voting irregularities.
The Pennsylvania lieutenant governor told Newsweek that there have been only two cases of voter fraud in the state, both involving voters in favor of President Donald Trump.

The country is going nuts, now governors are saying it’s okay to break the law in my state. This is outrageous. All the Trump supporters would go NUTS if this was Democrat voting for Biden committing voter fraud and I doubt this Republican governor would offer a pardon to that person. Fraud on any side of the aisle is fraud, funny how all the Republicans keep saying it’s Democrats committing fraud but all the cases so far have been Republicans committing fraud voting for Trump, hypocrites.
